Petrobras buildings in Rio de Janeiro will receive, throughout this month, special lighting in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride. The company’s headquarters, located in the center of the city, has been showing colorful lighting effects since Friday (2). The effects are triggered at the beginning of the night. “We are proud to be who we are. And we are even more proud to be a Petrobras for all,” wrote the company’s president, Jean Paul Prates, on social media. LGBTQIA+ Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. With the lighting of the headquarters, Petrobras repeats an initiative from 2018, when the building also gained color effects. Between 2019 and 2022, no such campaign was carried out. According to Petrobras, the colors of the rainbow will light up ten more company units in other cities, including Santos and Brasília, in addition to the Paulínia Refinery, in São Paulo, and the P-69 platform located in the Saints. In a note, the state-owned company highlighted measures that it adopts in favor of diversity, such as the extension of the benefits of health and social security plans for homoaffective couples. The measure began to take effect in 2007. “In addition, since 2018, the company allows the use of the social name for trans employees”, highlights the text.
