About 112,000 passengers should board at São Paulo’s bus terminals from Wednesday (7) to Thursday (8) to enjoy the Corpus Christi holiday outside the city or state. This means an increase of 11% compared to last year, in the three bus stations in the city – Jabaquara, Tietê and Barra Funda. The most popular destinations are Curitiba, Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, cities in Mato Grosso do Sul and the interior and coast of São Paulo. According to Socicam – the concessionaire responsible for managing the terminals, during the extended holiday until Monday (12), the forecast is for 554,000 people leaving and arriving in the city via the São Paulo bus stations. A special operation was prepared with the availability of 553 extra buses to meet the increased demand. If necessary, more cars can be made available. Recommendations Socicam’s recommendation for those who intend to travel by bus is that the traveler choose regular lines and board only at the official terminals, where the rights guaranteed by law are ensured. If it is not possible to make the purchase online, before going to the bus terminal, the ideal thing is for the passenger to contact the bus company he wants to travel to check the availability of tickets and options for dates and times. It is also necessary that all passengers, including children, present an original identification document with a photo. Children and teenagers traveling alone or with third parties, under 16 years of age, need an authorization that must be presented at the time of boarding. To obtain the document, simply access the website of the Court of Justice of São Paulo and click on Information, then on Childhood and Youth, and then on Travel Authorization. The luggage limit is up to 30 kilograms (kg) in the luggage compartment and up to 5 kg in hand luggage, as long as it does not interfere with the comfort of other passengers. Ideally, luggage should be identified with a label containing your full name and telephone number. Passengers must arrive at the terminal at least half an hour before the time indicated on the ticket. Tickets can be rescheduled and refunded up to three hours in advance, directly with the bus company.
