Senator Chico Rodrigues (DEM-RR) was denounced by the parties Rede Sustentabilidade and Cidadania for having been caught with a large volume of cash during a Federal Police operation. The parliamentarian came to leave for 120 days, but returned to office. Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL) was chosen as rapporteur for the case. Senator Jorge Kajuru will be responsible for two breaches of decorum. In one of them, the parliamentarian is denounced by Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) for disclosing, in 2021, a recording with then-president Jair Bolsonaro with dialogues about a decision of the Federal Supreme Court, which authorized the installation of the CPI of Covid. Senator Zenaide Maia (PSB-RN) will be the rapporteur for this process. In the second, Kajuru was denounced by former senator Luiz Carlos do Carmo for allegedly spreading false information about lawmakers from the state of Goiás. Senator Otto Alencar (PSD-BA) was chosen as rapporteur for this case. Responding to an alleged breach of decorum, Senator Styvenson Valentim (Podemos-RN) was denounced by former deputy Joice Hasselmann (PSDB-SP), for being mocked after an accident that occurred with her in 2021. Senator Dr Hiran (PP-RR ) was selected as rapporteur for the process. Senator Cid Gomes, on the other hand, was denounced by the mayor, deputy Arthur Lira (PP-AL) for statements, in 2019, in which he called Lira an “achacador”, “a person who in his day to day, his practice is all aimed at blackmail, at creating difficulties to find solutions”. Senator Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP) was chosen as rapporteur for the complaint. Randolfe Rodrigues (No party-AP) will respond to a complaint filed by former federal deputy Daniel Silveira (PTB-RJ), of an attack against the “institution Presidency of the Republic and directly to the Democratic and Rule of Law” when criticizing former President Jair Bolsonaro for his condition during the covid-19 pandemic. The statements were made when the senator was vice president at the Covid CPI in 2021. Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM) will be the rapporteur for the process. Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) was responsible for two representations. One of them was shelved and the other, due to an alleged connection with militias, was postponed. The Ethics Council can determine warning and censure. In cases of temporary loss of mandate or impeachment, the penalties must be approved by the plenary of the House. Shelving The chairman of the council, Senator Jayme Campos (União Brasil-MT), determined the shelving of six cases for not having met the pre-requisites necessary for opening processes. The petitions were against the following parliamentarians: Davi Alcolumbre – The petition was proposed by the citizen Wilson Koressawa for alleged breach of parliamentary decorum by committing “19 crimes of loss of public documents, 19 crimes of prevarication, various acts of administrative impropriety and non-compliance with the fundamental duties of senators” when he was president of the House. Jayme Campos – The investigation request was made in 2020 by the former PROS party for alleged aggression by the senator to a person in Várzea Grande (MT) during an interview with his wife, Lucimar Campos, at the time mayor of the city. The filing was conducted by Senator Otto Alencar (PSD-BA), as it was a request against the president of the collegiate. Flavio Bolsonaro – The request for representation was submitted by former deputy Alexandre Frota, for allegedly intervening in investigations by the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro for alleged practice of cracking in the office of then state deputy Flávio Bolsonaro in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro. Humberto Costa – The complaint was filed by deputy José Medeiros (PL-MT) and stated that the parliamentarian would have had early access to the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, annulling all decisions taken by the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba (PR) in criminal actions against former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The day before that decision, Costa celebrated the return of the current president to the political scene. Paulo Rocha (PT-PA) – The request was presented by deputy José Medeiros (PL-MT), for having called former president Jair Bolsonaro a “genocidal” and “dictator” and that his government would be “corrupt, militia and genocidal “.
