Government authorizes deployment of the National Force to Mato Grosso do Sul

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security authorized the deployment of the National Force to the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The measure was published in the Official Gazette this Friday (16). The agents will work in joint operations with the Federal Police in indigenous territories and border regions with Paraguay. The National Public Security Force (FNSP) will stay in the region for thirty days, according to planning and with logistical support from the Federal Police. The measure complies with the judicial decision of the 1st Federal Court of Naviraí for preventive protection of possession of indigenous lands in the southern cone of the state and also in the dry border regions with Paraguay. The number of agents was not disclosed in the ordinance for security reasons for the agents involved, but it will follow the planning defined by the FNSP board.
