The Brazilian women’s volleyball team scored its sixth consecutive victory in the League of Nations by overcoming Germany this Saturday (17), by 3 sets to 1 (25/22, 25/18, 22/25 and 25/17), against crowd that filled the Nilson Nelson stadium in Brasília (DF). The last game in Brazil at home, ending the second week of the League, will be against the United States, this Sunday (18), at 10 am (Brasília time). The US team was undefeated until today (17), when it lost by 3 sets to 2 to Japan. The Brazilians also suffered a defeat in the competition. The setback was in the debut against China (3 sets to 2), on the last 31st, in Nagoya (Japan). It started with Macris, Kisy, Thaisa, Carol, Pri Daroit, Maiara Basso and libero Nyeme. Then the team rotated with Roberta, Rosamaria, Lorena, Julia Bergmann, Diana, Lorenne and Natinha Highlight of the match, the opposite Rosamaria scored 19 points (18 for attack and one for serve). “I was very happy with this victory. We know how important each game is. We had opportunities to rotate the team, everyone got into the game, and that’s very important. I was happy with my performance, for helping the team. I know we can still improve, and it’s the energy of this crowd that puts us forward. Brazil is looking for an unprecedented title in the League of Nations, after three runners-up in a row. In addition, the League’s games score points for the world ranking of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), one of the parameters for winning the Olympic vacancy for the Paris 2024 Games. The CBV confirmed this Saturday (17) that pointer Ana Cristina will undergo arthroscopy on her right knee next week. Last Monday (12), the player suffered an injury to the meniscus in her right knee while training for the national team in Brasília.
