The city of São Paulo had this Saturday (17) the coldest morning since 2023, recording an average temperature of 8.5ºC, according to data from the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of the municipality. The absolute minimum of 4.3°C was observed at the Capela do Socorro-Parelheiros station, which is on the border between these two subprefectures, in the extreme south of the city. So far, the coldest morning had been that of May 16 last year, with an average minimum temperature of 9.8°C and an absolute minimum of 3.9°C. According to the Municipal Secretariat for Assistance and Social Development (SMADS), from 8 pm this Friday (16) until 7 am today, 685 referrals were made to the reception services of the socio-assistance network of the city of São Paulo and 3,325 blankets were distributed. “Since the beginning of Operation Low Temperatures (OBT), on April 30, until the beginning of this Saturday morning, 162,337 people were assisted, which resulted in 28,951 admissions. In addition, 81,535 blankets, 644,728 food items (soup, bread, hot chocolate, tea and water) have been distributed so far, and 2,900 doses of vaccine against Influenza and Covid-19 have been administered”, says the city hall in a note. Weather forecast According to the CGE, Saturday will be sunny and cloudy, with the presence of polar air not allowing temperatures to rise much. The maximum reaches 17°C, and the lowest humidity levels are close to 50%. The day will end with stable weather and a drop in temperature. Sunday (18) will have sun, cloud variation and thermometers oscillating between 10°C and 18°C. At the end of the day, cloudiness increases, with no expectation of rain. At the beginning of next week, cold and dry air prevails, with temperatures remaining low, especially in the evenings and early mornings. On Monday (19) there will be formation of humid fog and the possibility of drizzle between dawn and the early hours of the morning. During the day, many clouds, openings of sun and slow rise in temperature. Minimum of 11°C and maximum of 19°C.
