In this nucleus, the public will be able to check out three original costumes from the musical. In this space, visitors will be able to write a letter to the idol that will be posted in a mailbox and delivered to Magal at the end of the exhibition. “The exhibition moved me from beginning to end with photographs of my parents, from the beginning of my career, then all of my family, gifts from fans, film discs. Anyway, my life, my career, it’s emotional because you get to that point on the road and you have the pleasure of looking back and having a smile on your lips, because at the beginning of your career you have a smile on your lips every day thinking that everything will be flowers, but now I can say that they were flowers”, says Magal. The artist said that he always liked the attitudes, reactions and emotions of the public and that he always made a point of taking home the gifts that people send to the dressing room. “Sometimes they are very simple, very small, but I have to take them home, because we don’t lose people’s emotions, because that’s what the public gave me. It was that joy of life, of having such a lasting career. That for me is of the utmost importance,” he pointed out. Curator, writer and fashion designer, Bruna Ramos da Fonte, highlighted that in addition to being a great artist, who is part of Brazilian popular culture, Magal is also a fashion icon. “With his platforms, extravagant costumes with glitter and textures, he influenced and set trends. At the time, his costumes were a real revolution at a time when our society was much more conservative and we were experiencing the rigidity of the military regime. When I was invited to be the curator of this exhibition, I saw that it would be a great opportunity to exhibit, for the first time, a beautiful selection of original costumes that could be used as a guiding thread for us to tell the artist’s trajectory”, she explained.
