The Civil Police of the State of São Paulo, together with Procon, carried out Operation Ticket Clean, this Monday (19), to combat the behavior of money changers in the ticket sales queue for the singer Taylor Swift’s concert, at Allianz Parque , located in the capital of São Paulo. The Citizenship Protection Police Department (DPPC) approached 300 people and 25 suspects were taken to the 1st Police Station of the Division of Investigations into Consumer Infractions (DIICC), where they were heard and released. 20 bank cards and a machine were also seized. The action had the participation of 50 civil police officers and the use of 25 vehicles. Procon-SP informed that it is already issuing notifications to the company that organizes the singer’s concerts, which will be held in November in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The measure is one of the administrative instruments when consumers register complaints. From the notification, the organizing company has a deadline to present explanations and, in the pertinent cases, to adopt measures that solve the problems pointed out, in accordance with the rules of the Consumer Protection Code. “According to a preliminary analysis of consumer complaints registered on the website of the consumer protection agency, the tickets, whose sale began this Monday (12), would have sold out in a few hours on official channels, but would be being announced and sold. on unofficial sites at much higher prices”, says a note from the organ. Last Wednesday (14), the Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo (MP) launched an inquiry to investigate reports of possible abusive consumer practices adopted by the company that sells tickets for the singer’s concerts in Brazil. According to the agency, the procedure is based on factual news reporting that the services provided by the company in relation to the artist’s presentations present several irregularities consisting of failures or absence of effective measures to combat the performance of money changers, both in the point of sale both physical and digital. According to reports, the company allowed the use of robot technology for ticket acquisition. “It is also reported that the sales system adopted by the journalist makes it possible to quickly and cheaply transfer the ownership of the purchased ticket, which leads to the sale of tickets on unofficial channels and at exorbitant prices”, says promoter Maria Stella Camargo Milani at the entrance of establishment.
