The second victim of the shooting at Professor Helena Kolody State College, in Cambé, Paraná, died early this Tuesday (20), after a former student entered the institution armed. The information was confirmed by the University Hospital of Londrina, where the young man was hospitalized. The student’s family authorized organ donation. The name of the second victim has not yet been released. The attack took place on the morning of Monday (19). In a note, the government of Paraná reported that the former student would have entered the school claiming that he would request his school transcript. The shooter was arrested and sent to Londrina. Governor Ratinho Junior declared three days of official mourning and regretted what had happened. According to the civil police, the shooter stated that the objective was to attack young people, because, for him, “he would be retaliating for that suffering” and hurt that he kept from the time he studied in high school. The Secretary of Public Security of Paraná, Hudson Teixeira, said that, in a statement, the author of the shots confirmed that he had no connection with the victims. The secretary also informed that the shooter had already carried out a knife attack in another school, in the past, and was denounced by the Public Ministry. At the time, the military police were called, but he fled. Third attack The shooting at Colégio Estadual Professora Helena Kolody is the latest of a total of three attacks with deaths recorded in Brazilian schools this year.
