The deadline for registration in the selection process of the Unified Selection System (Sisu) for the second half of 2021 ends at 11:59 pm this Thursday (23). To participate in the event, interested parties must access the Single Access Portal to Higher Education. The result is expected to be released on June 27. The classification of students is based on the grade obtained in the 2022 edition of the National High School Examination (Enem). Applications must be made from June 29th to July 4th. Sisu is the program of the Ministry of Education (MEC) that brings together vacancies offered by public institutions of higher education throughout Brazil, most of which are offered by federal institutions – universities and institutes. Vacancies are opened every six months through a computerized system that performs the selection of students based on the Enem score, according to the choices of the registered candidates. For this, the candidate cannot have scored zero in the essay. Selection process Students can choose up to two course options in each Sisu selection process. It is possible to change the options during the registration period, and only the last one will be valid. Those who are not selected in both options can still compete for one of the vacancies through the waiting list. To do so, you must express interest in joining the list in the period from July 27th to July 4th. The call for candidates will be made by the institutions from July 10th. The vacancies offered are distributed according to the Quota Law (Law No. 12,711/2012). Federal institutions of higher education linked to MEC must reserve at least 50% of vacancies for students who have completed high school in public schools. Half of the vacancies are reserved for students from families with an income equal to or less than 1.5 minimum wages per capita (income per head). Institutions can adopt their own policies and actions, such as reserved vacancies and application of bonuses on the grade of the candidate who meets the profile indicated by the institution. According to the institution’s specifications, Sisu automatically calculates and generates a new note.
