The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) resumes this Tuesday (27) the trial that could lead to the ineligibility of former president Jair Bolsonaro. The session is scheduled to start at 7 pm. Last Thursday (22), the first day of the trial, the TSE heard the arguments presented by the lawyers of the PDT, the party that filed the action, Bolsonaro’s defense and the accusation of the Electoral Public Ministry (MPE). The court judges the conduct of the former president during a meeting with ambassadors, in July last year, at the Palácio da Alvorada, to attack the electronic voting system. The legality of the meeting was questioned by the caption. The trial will resume with the vote of the rapporteur, Minister Benedito Gonçalves. After the position of the rapporteur, the other Justices start to vote in the following sequence: Raul Araújo, Floriano de Azevedo Marques, André Ramos Tavares, Cármen Lúcia, Nunes Marques and the President of the Court, Alexandre de Moraes. If any justice requests a view to suspend the trial, the deadline for returning the case is 30 days, renewable for another 30. With the July recess in the superior courts, the deadline will rise to 90 days. If another session is needed to judge the case, the TSE has already reserved the third session for Thursday (29).
