Candidates not selected in the regular call of the Unified Selection System (Sisu), for the second semester, but interested in joining the waiting list, have until Tuesday (4th) to access the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education and register . Sisu is the program of the Ministry of Education (MEC) that brings together vacancies offered by public institutions of higher education throughout Brazil, most of which are offered by federal institutions – universities and institutes. “The candidate will be able to express interest in the waiting list in only one of the courses for which he chose to apply in his Sisu registration. The call through the waiting list will be from July 10”, informed the MEC. Information about waiting list calls will be made available by the institution in which the student enrolled; and the calls will be managed and carried out by the institution itself, according to its planning. “The information must be in the notice of the institution of higher education and on the institution’s website”, explains the MEC. Vacancies The second edition of Sisu in 2023 will provide 51,277 vacancies in 1,666 undergraduate courses, from 65 institutions of higher education. According to the ministry, the event accounts for 305,797 enrollments and 578,781 enrollments in courses offered. The difference is due to the fact that it is possible for candidates to choose up to two course options. The system performs the selection of students based on the score of the National High School Exam (Enem). Enrollment is free and made exclusively online, through the digital services of the federal government (gov.br). “Up to the limit of vacancies offered, by course and type of competition, according to the choices of registered candidates, they are selected in order of highest classification, in each of the two annual editions of Sisu”, explains the MEC.
