In an integrated action, federal police officers, employees of the Federal Revenue Service and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock participated in an operation to repress the smuggling of Argentine products at the customs of the Tancredo Neves International Bridge, which connects the cities of Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, and from Puerto Iguazú, Argentina. The actions resulted in the arrest of six people for smuggling and the seizure of eight vehicles loaded with wines and olive oil whose sale is prohibited in Brazil, in addition to plant products. According to the Federal Police, some products do not have the quality guarantee of the production process, and their sale and consumption pose a risk to public health. The prisoners were taken to the Federal Police Station in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. The seized goods and vehicles were taken to the Customs Office of the Federal Revenue for the appropriate tax procedures.
