The Ministry of Health and the government of Amapá started this Saturday (15), in Macapá, the actions of the National Multivaccination Campaign in the state. The objective of the initiative is to expand vaccination coverage among children and adolescents up to 15 years of age. According to the state oversight of Health Surveillance (SVS), starting this Saturday, basic health units (UBS) across the state will intensify efforts to ensure the application of 17 types of immunizers provided for in the national vaccination schedule. The immunizers made available within the scope of the campaign are BCG, which protects the patient against tuberculosis, and vaccines against hepatitis types A and B, in addition to Penta (DTP/Hib/Hep. B) and inactivated vaccines (VIP) and (OPV) against poliomyelitis and human rotavirus (VRH). According to the Amapá government, immunizers against covid-19 are also available; yellow fever; varicella and triple viral, in addition to Pneumococcal 10-valent; Meningococcal C (conjugated); DTP (triple bacterial); quadrivalent HPV; dT (adult duo); dTpa (adult DTP) and Meningococcal ACWY. The official launch of the campaign in the state took place this morning, at Praça Veiga Cabral, in Macapá. The campaign is scheduled to end on July 30th. This Saturday, the program ends at noon (local time). “Vaccination will serve to increase vaccination coverage in children and adolescents, especially in people who have risk factors or conditions”, informed, in a note, the superintendent of the SVS, Margarete Gomes. “Unfortunately, our country has low vaccination coverage for virtually all vaccines. This leaves our population unprotected. We are going to offer immunizations for the entire calendar to prevent those diseases that are preventable by vaccine from returning”, said, also in a note, the director of the Department of the National Immunization Program, of the Ministry of Health, Eder Gatti. Amapá is the third state to launch the multivaccination campaign this year, following Amazonas and Acre, federative units where the ministry decided to anticipate immunization due to notification of polio cases in Peru, a country neighboring Brazil and bordering both States. Roraima, Maranhão and Pará will be the next states to receive multivaccination. The forecast is that the actions in the health units of these states begin in the month of August.
