The mayor of Cabo Frio (RJ), José Bonifácio Ferreira Novellino, died early this Monday (27), aged 78. He was an economist, affiliated with the PDT and was undergoing treatment for cancer. Last Friday (14), the mayor had filed a request for medical leave for a period of 90 days, with the City Council, to continue the health treatment. With the request, Deputy Mayor Magdala Furtado had already been summoned to replace him as of today. The wake is being held this morning at the Palácio das Águias, the historic building of the city hall. A tribute will be held at 1pm. The burial was scheduled for 4 pm at the Santa Izabel Cemetery.
