The selling price of natural gas will have an average reduction of 7.1% per cubic meter, compared to the quarter from May to July. The percentage considers the variation in the price of the product and its transportation through pipelines. According to Petrobras, with the update, the price of natural gas sold by the company to distributors accumulates a reduction of approximately 25% in the year. The reduction, according to Petrobras, takes effect on August 1st and continues in accordance with the contracts entered into by the company with the distributors. The company also informed that “the contracts with the distributors provide for quarterly updates of the price portion related to the gas molecule and link this variation to fluctuations in Brent oil and the exchange rate”. According to Petrobras, for the quarter in question, “oil fell by 3.8% and the exchange rate appreciated by 4.8%”. According to Petrobras, the final price of natural gas to the consumer is not only determined by the company’s selling price, but also by the supply portfolio of each distributor.
