Current leader of the ranking, Brazilian surfer Filipe Toledo won his third championship in the Jeffrey’s Bay stage, the penultimate on the world circuit before the WSL Finals title dispute, in September, in California (United States). He was left in the final against the Australian Ethan Ewing, with a score of 18.76 against 12.60 of the vice-leader of the circuit. Filipinho’s first two J-Bay titles were in 2017 and 2018. In women’s surfing, Tatiana Weston Webb from Rio Grande do Sul is already guaranteed in Paris: he stamped his spot in April. On Tuesday (18), Filipinho had already guaranteed his qualification for the WSL Finals in advance, by advancing to the quarterfinals, overcoming the Indonesian Rio Waida. Only the top five in each gender will compete in the decisive phase that guarantees the winners the 2023 world title. The WSL Finals will be in Long Trestles, California (USA), between September 8th and 16th. THE MAN IS UNSTOPPABLE! 🤯 What an absurd wave from Filipe Toledo!
