Thousands of motorcyclists from all over Brazil and other countries began to take to the streets of Brasilia. They are part of 1,800 motorcycle clubs and participate in the edition that celebrates the 20th anniversary of Capital Moto Week, considered the largest motorcycling event in Latin America and the third largest in the world. “The main focus is on the history of people and music”, said cultural producer Pedro Franco, one of the organizers of Capital Moto Week. “The intention is to have rock as the soundtrack of the entire space. We go through all aspects of rock. More punk with Supla, more pop with Jota Quest, lighter with Nando Reis and heavier with Angra”. The 71 bands scheduled for this edition will be divided into five stages: the main one and four thematic ones. One of the themes is exclusive to female groups. In addition to rock, the festival welcomes jazz, blues and hip hop artists. “At the same time that I have a certain type of rock playing on the main stage, the others make a musical counterpoint, precisely so that every day all tastes are met”, details Pedro Franco. In all, 49 bands from Brasilia will perform at Capital Moto Week. “Moto Week ended up becoming a showcase for rock from all over Brazil, but always valuing the rock scene in Brasília”, said producer Pedro Franco. “To open a headliner [atrações do palco principal] the band must be from Brasilia and have an original work. The intention is to promote backstage meetings between local artists and managers of bands already established in the music industry”, explains the producer. The expectation is to receive 800,000 people in the ten days of the festival, which began this Thursday (20th) and runs until next Saturday (29th). At least 20,000 motorcyclists will camp in Cidade da Moto, which occupies an area of 298,000 square meters, 12 kilometers from the central region of Brasília. The venue is open 24 hours a day, every day of the event. Capital Moto Week takes place at the Granja do Torto Exhibition Park, in Brasília.
