Jane Karla, from Goiás, shone brightly at the Paralympic Archery World Championship, held in Pilsen (Czech Republic), with the conquest of two silver medals and one bronze. These results led her to lead the world ranking in the composite female category. Jane’s silver medals were obtained in the mixed open compound (alongside Reinaldo Charão) and female (with Helena de Moraes) tests. In the mixed decision, the Brazilians were beaten by the Indians Sarita and Rakesh Kumar (152 to 146), while in the women’s final the Brazilian archers lost by 152 to 145 to the British Jodie Grinham and Phoebe Paterson. The bronze came in the women’s individual open composite dispute, where Jane defeated the Indian Sarita by 142 to 139 in the duel for third place. “A lot of joy to be in the first place of the [ranking do] world for the second time. It’s an amazing feeling to see that I’m on the right track. I can only thank God, my husband and my family, who are always by my side supporting me. I also thank the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, for the support it gives us to be in the competitions, Bolsa Atleta, which helps us so much, and the Brazilian Confederation of Archery. Without you, none of this would be possible”, declared the Goiana, who was already at the top of the ranking in 2019.
