The federal government received, early this morning (13), a batch of 1.4 million doses of vaccines against covid-19. The immunizers, of the bivalent type, protect against the original Omicron variant and the BA1 variant. The vaccines will undergo evaluation and analysis by the National Institute for Quality Control in Health and will be distributed after the release of a technical note by the Ministry of Health, with guidance on application and target audience. Through social media, the ministry recorded the arrival of the shipment of vaccines with a short video: “Another batch of bivalent vaccines against covid-19 arrived this morning. Immunizers become available to Brazilians less than a month after approval for emergency use by Anvisa.” The Brazilian government has already ordered, together with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, immunizers adapted to the Ômicron BA4 and BA5 variants. The forecast is that around 9 million bivalent doses will already be available by the 19th. Bivalent vaccines are those that are already up-to-date in relation to virus mutations and also protect against its variants.
