A few minutes before Lula’s arrival at the National Congress for the inaugural session, the movement of authorities is intense. Ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) such as Ricardo Lewandowski and Alexandre de Moraes, who presides over the Superior Electoral Court, are already in Congress. The list of authorities at the site also includes former president Dilma Roussef, and future ministers of the new government such as Luiz Marinho, from Labour; Anielle Franco, from Racial Equality; Carlos Fávaro, from Agriculture. The future president of Petrobras Jean Paul Prates, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Artur Lira, also arrived. The future Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, advanced the portfolio’s priorities when he arrived for the ceremony. According to him, priorities will be federal railroads and highways, as well as public-private partnership projects. The former governor of Alagoas said there will still be a review of the concessions made in the Bolsonaro government in the transport sector. Among future ministers and parliamentarians arriving for the session, the feeling is one of joy and reconstruction. The leader of the government in the Chamber, José Guimarães, said that the priority in the House will be tax reform. The leader of the government in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues, added administrative reform as a priority. Asked about who will transmit the presidential sash to Lula, the leader of the government in the Chamber made suspense and said that it would be a surprise. Traditionally, the sash is handed by the incumbent president to the president-elect. However, Bolsonaro traveled on Friday (30) and it was not disclosed who will broadcast.
