The denouncement channel created by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) about information regarding the terrorist acts of January 8 received more than 50,000 messages with links to social networking pages, videos and other information. When announcing the e-mail [email protected], on Monday (9), Minister of Justice Flávio Dino said that the tool is for society to collaborate with the identification of those involved. “This e-mail is intended for society to collaborate. There is a team doing the triage so that criminal responsibility goes beyond those who were in person here at the Esplanada, that is, we want to reach the financiers, the organizers ”, he said. According to the ministry, the data of the whistleblowers and the information passed on will be kept confidential. There will also be no disclosure of the number of messages sent by state. Complaints are analyzed by the National Secretariat for Access to Justice. The information received will be passed on to the competent authorities, such as the Federal Police, responsible for initiating the investigation, and, according to the ministry, the participants will respond criminally. Geolocation In addition to the ministry, the Advocacy General of the Union (AGU) also works to identify the participants of the acts. Yesterday (10), the AGU asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to guarantee the storage of geolocation data of people who were in the vicinity of Praça dos Três Poderes, in Brasília. Data must be stored for 90 days by cell phone operators, with information extracted from cell phone geolocation systems and also from radio triangulations from nearby antennas. In the case of social networks and messaging applications, the IP addresses that identify access to platforms, with location and time, must be preserved. They are mentioned in the petition Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Whatsapp, Youtube, Google and Tik Tok, among others. According to the request, the data referring to the period between 13:00 and 21:00 must be collected and stored separately, specified the AGU. The information should not be forwarded to the body, but only stored for possible access by court order.
