Journalist Hélio Doyle will be the new president of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC). The announcement was made this Thursday (26) by the chief minister of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Paulo Pimenta, through social networks. The minister also announced members who will make up the company’s management: Antonia Pellegrino will be the company’s Content director, Flávia Filipini; Director of Journalism; Nicole Briones, Superintendent of Social Networks; and Jean Lima, general director of EBC. “Today we invite @heliomdoyle to assume the presidency of @ebcnarede. With the support of President @LulaOficial, @apellegrino @FlaviaFilipini @nicolebriones and @jeanlimadf will also be part of the new direction. A new stage begins in the project of public communication in Brazil!”, said the minister on Twitter. The minister thanked the company’s interim president, Kariane Costa, and other members of the board “with whom we will continue to dialogue to strengthen a democratic and quality EBC. Paulo, Jornal de Brasília, Opinião, Folha de S.Paulo, Rede Globo, Veja, IstoÉ, Brasil Extra, Zero Hora, Jornal do Brasil .For 28 years, he was a professor at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Brasília (UnB). He also served as head of the press office in the Government of the Federal District. He is the author of the books This Is the Old Politics and Interregnum-the Spell of Tobago.
