The 3rd Specialized Criminal Investigation Prosecutor’s Office of the state of Rio de Janeiro denounced Marcelly Andressa Damasceno de Albuquerque and Ana Claudia Pires Mazeto to Justice for the crime of robbery (robbery followed by death) of teacher and tour guide Daniel Mascarenhas Xavier da Silva, 31 years old . The crime took place on the 10th, after the guide left a group of tourists in the traditional bohemian neighborhood of Lapa, in the central region of Rio. Prosecutor Alexandre Murilo Graça also requested that the temporary detention of the accused be converted into preventive detention. Daniel, in addition to being a tour guide, taught English and French to Brazilians and Portuguese to foreigners. He was returning from work at around 2:00 am, when he was passing through Rua 20 de Abril towards Central do Brasil, where he would take a bus to Ilha do Governador, in the north zone, where he lived. Daniel was approached by the denounced who were on a motorcycle without a license plate and pointed out a firearm simulacrum. The victim even handed over a bag containing belongings and R$376. Not satisfied, Ana Claudia demanded that Daniel hand over his cell phone. He reacted. Knife strikes Marcelly got off the bike carrying a knife and stabbed him several times. Still according to the complaint, in the sequence, the knife fell to the ground, and Ana Claudia continued to attack the victim, applying numerous blows to her. The tour guide still walked towards the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, but ended up dying in Praça da República, a few meters from where he was stabbed. Daniel still tried to ask for help from a taxi driver and other people. No one wanted to help him because the two criminals said he tried to rob them.
