A 17-year-old teenager was apprehended this Monday morning (13), after throwing a homemade bomb at a school in Monte Mor, in the interior of São Paulo. The attack took place at the Professor Antonio Sproesser State School, where the Vista Alegre Municipal School also operates. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the youth was apprehended after throwing a homemade bomb through the window of the school unit. “The bomb exploded in the toilet, but there were no injuries. With him, a hatchet was seized and in his house, an airsoft gun and material alluding to Nazism. The minor’s computer was also seized for expertise. The vehicle used in the crime was located by military police on Rua Barciliano. The school was investigated, and the case is being registered at the Monte Mor Police Station, where it will be investigated. Policing around the educational establishment has been intensified”, informed the SSP, in a note sent to the press. Monte Mor City Hall regretted the attack on the school and reported that it was an isolated incident. “The individual who carried out the attack was apprehended by the Municipal Civil Guard of Monte Mor and is currently at the disposal of the Judiciary Police”, says a note from the city hall, ruling out the occurrence of attacks on other schools. According to the city hall, security is being reinforced in the other municipal schools in Monte Mor. The Monte Mor Education Department provided psychological assistance to students and their families, teachers and employees of the attacked teaching unit. According to the folder, the psychological service will be provided by professionals from the Department of Education team from this Tuesday (14).
