The National Council of Justice (CNJ) approved today (28) the creation of a new body to identify and propose measures to combat institutional racism within the Judiciary. The New National Forum of the Judiciary Power for Racial Equity (Fonaer) will have the objective of elaborating a resolution for the Judicial Policy for Racial Equity. According to the creation norm approved this Tuesday (28), it will be up to Fonaer “to facilitate the implementation and modernization of routines, the organization, specialization and structuring of the competent bodies of action of the Judiciary to guarantee racial equity, including in court lawsuits”. Fonaer will provide subsidies for the definition of criteria for the performance of the committees that carry out the so-called hetero-identification in public tenders, to verify the adequate fulfillment of quotas reserved for black people. The new collegiate should also organize national and regional meetings and seminars on racial equality, with the participation of Justice, other segments of public power, civil society and the academic community, informed the CNJ.
