Composer Sueli Costa died at the age of 79 this Saturday (4) in Rio de Janeiro. The information was released by the composer’s niece, singer Fernanda Cunha, on a social network. The cause of death was not disclosed. The wake will take place this Sunday (5) at the São João Batista Cemetery, in Botafogo, in the southern part of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Sueli Costa is the author of great successes of Brazilian popular music, such as 20 anos Blues, Alma, Amor amor, Jura Secreta and Voz de Mulher. Raised in Juiz de Fora (MG), Sueli moved to Rio at the end of the 60s, where she began composing and was recorded by great performers such as Nara Leão, Elis Regina and Maria Bethânia.
