The Civil Police State Secretariat (Sepol) of Rio de Janeiro set up a task force to investigate acts of vandalism and violence committed by organized football fans in the state and their members. The intention is to prevent criminal actions by groups, with investigation and intelligence activities, and to anticipate possible violent acts by the fans, such as those that occurred on March 5th around Maracanã, in the north zone, before the start of the match between Flamengo and Vasco for the Carioca Championship. The investigation is being carried out by teams from the Police Station for the Repression of Computer Crimes (DRCI). Inquiries have already been launched to investigate the practice of criminal organization, personal injury, damage to public and private property and other crimes under the Fan Statute. “The task force has the participation of the Undersecretariat for Planning and Operational Integration (SSPIO), the Undersecretariat for Intelligence (Ssinte) and the General Departments of Specialized Police (DGPE) and the Capital (DGPC),” Sepol said in a statement. note. According to the police station, more than 100 people with some involvement with the facts were identified and summoned. Prison After a representation by the DRCI made on Saturday (11), the justice of Rio answered the specialist’s request and granted this Monday (13) the temporary arrest, for 30 days, of four leaders of the Young Flu, Força Jovem Vasco, Flamengo Young Fans and Red Black Race. According to the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ), they will answer for the crimes of criminal organization, serious bodily injury and attempted murder. In the decision, Judge Ana Beatriz Estrella, in Judicial Duty, yesterday (13), considered that the necessary requirements to base the precautionary custody of the indicted are present, according to what has already been determined. “The seriousness of the crimes committed, the legal rights violated and the devaluation of the conduct allegedly perpetrated by the Defendants lead to the adoption of energetic measures by the Judiciary, and it should be emphasized that the freedom of those represented can hinder the collection of evidence and, furthermore, put the lives or physical integrity of the witnesses at risk”, he pointed out in the decision, which was transcribed by the TJRJ in a note. Removal In another decision, judge Bruno Vaccari Manfrenatti, from the Special Court for Fans and Major Events, determined the removal from sporting events, for five years, of the fans Raça Rubro-Negra, Jovem Fla, Força Jovem do Vasco and Young Flu. The measure also stems from the inquiry opened by the Civil Police to investigate the criminal acts of March 5. In addition, the judge authorized search and seizure actions and the unavailability of fans’ assets. In the understanding of the magistrate, the steps are necessary for the continuation of investigations of crimes committed by members of organized supporters. “The reported acts of violence, especially those on March 5, 2023, bring data that reveal the commission of the investigated crimes, as well as the involvement of organized supporters. And at this point lies the concrete element that underlies the appropriateness of the search and seizure measure. It should be noted the videos of barbarism and unbridled violence, authenticated by the PM as actions of organized supporters, which were broadcast on social networks and in the media”, said the judge, in the decision released by the TJRJ. With the decision, 16 members of organized supporters will have to stay away from stadiums on game days, for a period of six months and will be electronically monitored with anklets. These organized members are also prevented from leaving the state of Rio without judicial authorization and will need to appear in court every two months.
