The swimmer from Minas Gerais won the gold medal by completing the race in 3min23s83, lowering the mark obtained by him in April last year, in São Paulo, by more than 23 seconds. The woman from Pernambuco won the 100-metre freestyle, class S12 (low vision), with a time of 59s84. Brazil reached the podium twice this Thursday (16). Gabriel Bandeira from São Paulo won silver in the 100m freestyle, class S14 (intellectual disability) and Patrícia Santos from Minas Gerais won the second silver of the day in the 150m medley, in class S4 (severe physical-motor impairments).
