This Friday (24th) civil police apprehended a teenager who was planning to attack students and teachers at a school located in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro. According to the Civil Police, the attack was planned for April 20, the date that would mark the 24th anniversary of the massacre at a college in Columbine, in the United States. Also according to the Civil Police, the teenager disclosed information about the attack on the internet and made apologies for Nazism. Search and seizure warrants were executed at the suspect’s house, which ended up being apprehended on a downtown street. Operation Liberatio also carried out a search and seizure warrant at the home of another teenager, in Realengo, who also posted videos on the subject on the internet. The investigations into the attack, coordinated by the Police Department for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (DPCA) in Rio, had the collaboration of the Federal Police, Interpol and the State Department of Education of Rio de Janeiro.
