More than 1.2 million police bulletins were registered at the Virtual Police Station, according to a report released by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP). Most occurrences are loss or misplacement of a document or object; theft and larceny. The system is in operation in ten units of the Federation (Acre, Alagoas, Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima, Sergipe and Tocantins). In the state of Rondônia, the tool is undergoing an implementation phase. How it works Created in August last year, the Virtual Police Station allows citizens to file a police report using a computer or mobile device (cell phone, tablet), without the need to go to a physical unit. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To make a claim, the interested party must be over 18 years old and have an active account in the Gov.br system. From there, just access the Virtual Police Station and select in which state the fact was committed. Afterwards, the user is forwarded to a page with general guidelines on using the system. It shows the types of occurrences that can be registered and, then, it is requested to fill in the requested data on the page. After completing the registration, the citizen will be able to follow all the steps of the BO through the platform and also the status of the service. The following occurrences can be registered: loss or misplacement of a document or object, theft, theft, embezzlement, traffic accident without victim, threat, injury, slander, defamation, factual violations, disturbance of peace, disappearance of person, location of person missing, mistreatment of animals, violation of home, cybercrime, fleeing the scene of a traffic accident, tampering with a motor vehicle identification signal and domestic violence against women. The bulletins are sent to the civil police of the states, responsible for investigating the facts. Adhesion To join the system, the state must sign a technical cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Interested states may contact the Directorate for Information Management and Integration of the National Secretariat for Public Security at (61) 2025-3333 or by email at [email protected].
