Civilian policemen arrested this Sunday (2nd), in the city of Rio de Janeiro, a woman suspected of being one of the organizers of the attacks that took place recently in Rio Grande do Norte. According to the Civil Police, she is appointed as head of the criminal faction responsible for the attacks. The arrest was made by agents of the Civil Police Narcotics Repression Station. Police reported that she was hiding in Complexo da Penha, in the north of the city, and was being monitored by agents. The name of the detainee has not yet been released. After leaving Complexo da Penha, she was arrested in Campo Grande, in the western part of the city. According to the Civil Police, the 31-year-old woman assumed command of the faction after the death of her partner, in September 2016, and responds to several lawsuits in court. The press office of the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense of Rio Grande do Norte reported that she was wanted by the police of that state and had two outstanding arrest warrants: one for drug trafficking and the other for a criminal organization. On March 14, several attacks promoted by criminals began in Rio Grande do Norte, with fires and shots against public buildings, vehicles, businesses and houses, in retaliation for the conditions of the prisons in that state. Investments Agents of the National Public Security Force were sent to Rio Grande do Norte and the federal government announced investments of R$ 100 million in state security. Last Friday (31), the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, visited the state to deliver rifles, pistols, ammunition and vehicles. According to the Potiguar Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat, more than 300 attacks were recorded between March 14 and 24, which resulted in the death of a trader. But since the 25th, no occurrences related to these attacks have been registered. Police actions, in turn, resulted in the death of 14 suspects involved in the attacks, 12 in Rio Grande do Norte and another two in actions by the Potiguar police in Ceará and Paraíba.
