One person died and two are missing after the sinking of a vessel in Praia da Enseada, in Bertioga, on the north coast of São Paulo. According to information from the Maritime Fire Brigade (GBMar) and the Military Police, twelve people were on the vessel when it sank at around 00:30 today (8). Among the occupants, ten were passengers and two were boatmen. Nine people were rescued alive and sent to the Bertioga Central Emergency Room. Their health status has not been reported. According to GB Mar, the sinking would have been caused after a large wave hit the vessel, which was on the high seas. Initial information obtained by the Fire Department says that the passengers would not be using life jackets. Several wreckages of the vessel were seen by firefighters in the vicinity of the area. The Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo reported that, at this moment, four firefighters remain at the scene in an attempt to locate the two people who are missing. Speedboats, jet skis and an Eagle helicopter are helping with this work. The case will be investigated by the Bertioga Police Station.
