The 5th Unesp Book Fair will start this Wednesday (12), in São Paulo. It will have a virtual and face-to-face format until the 16th. Books on children’s, youth, classic and contemporary literature will be available, as well as entertainment, academic, professional and religious literature, among other topics. The books will have at least 50% discount on the cover value in the face-to-face version and 40% in the virtual version. The face-to-face version takes place on the Unesp campus, in São Paulo, located at Rua Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz, 271, next to the Barra Funda-Palmeiras Subway Station, and the virtual one on the event’s official website. Parallel to the sale of books, participating publishers will offer a cultural program throughout the days, both in person and in virtual versions. There will be meetings and lectures, including an opening conference in which researchers Natalia Pasternak and Carlos Orsi will debate the challenges of disseminating science. Culture The Communication of Science and Combating Disinformation meeting: the book and book culture as instruments of scientific communication will take place tomorrow, at 10 am, with free broadcast on Editora Unesp’s YouTube channel and on its Facebook page. In the first time that the event will have a face-to-face version since the covid-19 pandemic was declared, in March 2020, the combination of face-to-face and virtual formats provides, in the foreground, the entire sensory experience of the book in real time and , in the second, reaching a readership across the country.
