The Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) denounced, this Tuesday (11), criminal police officer Marcelo de Lima for triple homicide. On Saturday, April 1st, after the match between Flamengo and Fluminense, for the Campeonato Carioca, at the Maracanã stadium, Marcelo shot nine times with an automatic pistol at Fluminense fans Thiago Leonel Fernandes da Motta and Bruno Tonini Moura, in front of a pizzeria, causing Thiago’s death. The agent, stationed at the State Department of Penitentiary Administration (Seap), had preventive detention decreed by Justice in a custody hearing. The complaint reports that, at around 10:52 pm, in front of the Os Renatos pizzeria, in front of the stadium, Marcelo would have said that “a petista is the same as a Flamengo supporter, everything is stupid and a thief”, which provoked the revolt of the victims. After discussion, the accused shot at the victims, causing Thiago’s death and injuring Bruno Moura, who was rushed to the hospital, where he was operated on and managed to save himself. The document sent to the 4th Criminal Court of the Capital informs that “the crimes were committed for a base reason, due to Marcelo’s non-conformity with the political positions expressed by the victims after his statements, using a means that resulted in common danger, since the accused shot on a public road, with a large number of people circulating and socializing in local bars. In addition, the crimes were committed through a resource that made it difficult for the victims to defend themselves, caught unawares by the unexpected action of the accused”.
