The president of the Federal Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), evaluated positively the appointment of the executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Gabriel Galípolo, to the Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank (BC). According to Pacheco, the choice “certainly pleases the Federal Senate”. The announcement was made this Monday (8) by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad. “[Galípolo] has an excellent dialogue with the National Congress. So, I see myself as someone with specific predicates to occupy this position”, highlighted the president of the Senate after an event at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), in the capital of São Paulo. “I see it with a lot of optimism. It is a name that certainly pleases the Federal Senate”, said Pacheco. The Minister of Finance announced today two new directors for BC. In addition to Galípolo, to the Monetary Policy Board, he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of BC Ailton de Aquino Santos, a career civil servant at the bank. The names must be approved by the Federal Senate. The BC has a total of eight directors, in addition to the president.
