Rio de Janeiro will host the summit of heads of state of the G20, a group that brings together the world’s main economies, in November 2024. The information was released by Governor Cláudio Castro, from Rio, on his profile on the social network Twitter. The G20 brings together 19 countries, including Brazil, in addition to the European Union. His presidency rotates. The nation that chairs the G20 also hosts the summit meeting held annually. This year, for example, the presidency belongs to India, which will host the summit of heads of state on the 9th and 10th of September, in its capital, New Delhi. As of December of this year, the presidency will be in charge of Brazil, which, therefore, will host next year’s summit. Members In addition to Brazil, India and the European Union, the G20 includes the United States, China, Germany, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Japan, Italy, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Indonesia , Mexico and Turkey. According to Cláudio Castro, the 2024 meeting will have 20 members of the group, in addition to ten invited nations, including Paraguay and Uruguay, which are part of Mercosur along with Brazil and Argentina.
