This Wednesday (10th) the Federal Police (PF) launched Operation Diver against international drug trafficking in four states. A total of three preventive arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants are being served at addresses in Rio Grande Sul, Santa Catarina, Espírito Santo and São Paulo, issued by the Federal Court. According to the PF, the operation began on March 29, after the corporation and the Brazilian Navy seized, in Rio Grande (RS), 206 kilos of cocaine hidden in the hull of a ship bound for the port of Setúbal, in Portugal. “The drug was hidden in one of the ship’s sea chests, through diving activity and accompanied by trackers. The action started to be investigated by the Federal Police”, informed the PF. From a series of diligences, the PF identified a professional diver, whose function in the criminal organization consisted of storing the drug in ships moored in Brazilian port terminals, as well as removing the drug from the sea boxes, through the activity of diving abroad . The diver was arrested in São Paulo while boarding a flight to South Africa.
