The Federal Police (PF) carried out an operation this Thursday morning (11) against a criminal organization that operates in international drug trafficking. Baptized Helix, the action complies with ten arrest warrants and 43 search and seizure warrants in Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. In a post on Twitter, the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, reported that, so far, seven people have been arrested. “Federal Police today carry out two operations in Paraná. One is related to the financing of coup acts on January 8, with the fulfillment of 44 search and seizure warrants. Another operation is related to drug trafficking, with 7 arrested (so far ). In both cases, the goal is the same: to guarantee the authority of the Law in defense of society”, said the minister. In two years of investigation against that organization, according to the police, 2,700 kg of cocaine were seized, in addition to nine helicopters and a truck, which were used to transport the drug from Paraguay. The court also authorized the seizure of various movable assets, such as cars and helicopters, and a property linked to the criminal organization. The PF informed that the estimated values exceed R$ 30 million. Values and bank accounts of the people and companies involved were also blocked. The action relies on legal and police cooperation from Paraguay, as it was identified that the shipments of the drug were made on a farm in that country. There is an attempt to comply with an arrest warrant against one of the suspects who is in the neighboring country. The National Antidrug Secretariat (Senad) and the Paraguayan Public Prosecutor’s Office participate in the action.
