With the theme Museums, Sustainability and Well-Being, the 21st National Week of Museums starts this Monday (15th) and continues until next Sunday (21st). More than 1,100 institutions across the country participate in the edition, promoted annually due to the International Day of Museums, celebrated on May 18. According to the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram), this year’s edition highlights the importance of museums as spaces that promote well-being and sustainability, supporting three sustainable development goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations: health and well-being global wellbeing, climate action and life on earth. “In 2023, participating museums and cultural and educational institutions will carry out more than 3,500 activities in all Brazilian regions inspired by the theme, such as exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, workshops and musical and theatrical presentations”, informed Ibram.
