President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met, this Friday (19th), in Hiroshima, with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, who invited him to watch the Women’s Soccer World Cup in Australia, in July. Lula and Albanese also talked about the environment and labor relations – specifically about the situation of app workers. Another topic discussed was the need to expand trade relations between the two countries. Earlier, Lula posted on social media about the meeting with the Australian Prime Minister and recalled that the two countries had not met since 2018. “We are going to work to bring our countries closer together,” he said. Agenda Brazil’s participation in the G7 Summit officially begins this Saturday (20) with two debate sessions. One of them will deal with cooperation between countries to avoid crises, with a focus on food security. The Brazilian president will also have, throughout Saturday, reserved meetings with at least six authorities. On Sunday (21), Lula will participate in the last session of the G7 Summit and will hold private meetings with the secretary general of the United Nations, António Guterres, and with the prime ministers of India and Vietnam. At the end of Sunday afternoon, he meets with Japanese businessmen and, on Monday (22nd), the president talks to journalists and before returning to Brazil.
