The deadline for calling candidates selected on the waiting list of the first semester selection process of the Student Financing Fund (Fies) ends this Friday (2). The stage, which began on March 21, was even extended by the Ministry of Education – the initial forecast was that the call would end on May 18. By means of a note, the folder informed that it has already made at least seven calls for candidates on the Fies waiting list. “The extension responds to requests from students interested in financing their studies.” Understand The candidate is pre-selected on the Fies waiting list when the vacancy that had already been allocated to another candidate, during previous calls, returns to the system because it has not been occupied. That same vacancy is offered to the next student on the list, according to the classification order. In 2023, Fies offers 112,168 vacancies. The program grants funding to undergraduate students at private higher education institutions. Since 2018, Fies allows zero interest and a financing scale that varies according to the candidate’s family income. Candidates who have participated in the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem), as of the 2010 edition, and have obtained an arithmetic average of 450 points or more in the tests, in addition to a score greater than zero in the essay, may apply. It is also necessary to have gross monthly family income, per person, of up to three minimum wages.
