The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino (pictured), said, during a meeting with Justice Ministers from Mercosur, that the countries need to jointly face some of the great challenges of the contemporary world. In particular, those relating to the role of the internet. “We are not algorithms. We are not and cannot be slaves to algorithms. We can never be servants of artificial intelligence. We are humanists. We believe in human ingenuity. We believe in human talent”, said the minister this Friday (2nd), during the 57th Meeting of Ministers of Justice of Mercosur and Associated States, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Role of the internet Flávio Dino highlighted the need for integration and cooperation between countries to resolve this and other “big questions of humanity”, which, according to him, range from the classic issues related to peace, as well as “the challenges that mark the 21st century, especially two: one related to climate change; and another involving the role of the internet in our peoples, including for the primacy of human rights”. During the meeting, an agreement was signed that determines international jurisdiction over marriage, personal and property relationships between spouses, divorce and marital separation, as well as personal and property relationships and the dissolution of stable unions.
