The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday (14) Provisional Measure 1165/23, which changes the More Doctors program. The MP goes to vote in the Senate. The measure opens up the possibility of extending contracts and paying indemnities to encourage the work of physicians in areas of difficult fixation. The opinion of the rapporteur, Senator Zenaide Maia (PSD-RN), provides that the exchange doctor (who has a professional registration only abroad) can participate in the program for four years without the need to revalidate the diploma. Previously, the period allowed was three years. The rule may be applied to the rehiring of doctors who participated in the program until December 2022, regardless of the period of performance. Those who participated in Mais Médicos for more than four years can only be rehired with revalidation of the diploma. Regarding Revalida, the exam required to obtain the registration to practice medicine in Brazil for graduates abroad, will now take place every four months, and no longer every six months. Government and opposition deputies reached an agreement to approve a highlight of the PL to remove a section that would allow candidates approved in periodic evaluations for a period of 48 months to be exempt from the practical test of clinical skills. As a result, these candidates will have to continue to pass the practical exam. * With information from the Chamber Agency
