Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined this Thursday (15) that the digital influencer Bruno Monteiro Aiub, known as Monark, give testimony to the Federal Police (PF) within five days. The decision was taken in addition to the blocking of the influencer’s social networks, determined yesterday (15) by the minister. In addition to having profiles blocked, Monark is prohibited from publishing and sharing false news. The minister also set a fine of R$ 10,000 in case of non-compliance with the decision. In recent posts, he was accused by the minister of spreading “fraudulent news” about the elections. Moraes’ decision was motivated by a report produced by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) disinformation advisory. In the petition sent to the Supreme Court, the electoral court reported on the publication of a video of Monark on the social network Rumble, on June 5. In the recording, the influencer comments on the role of the Supreme Court and the TSE and proceeds to make insinuations about the electoral process. “Because he [Supremo] is willing to guarantee non-transparency in the elections? Do we see the TSE censoring people, Alexandre de Moraes arresting people, a lot of things happening and, at the same time, they preventing the polls from being transparent? You get suspicious. What nonsense is happening at the polls there? What’s the interest? Manipulate the polls? Manipulate the elections?”, said Monark. Agência Brasil is seeking contact with the influencer.
