A fishing vessel sank, on the night of this Friday (16), about 40 kilometers from Garopaba, on the coast of Santa Catarina. The information was confirmed by the Navy this Saturday (17). The vessel “BP Safadi Seif” was carrying eight people. According to the 5th Naval District, the search began last night and continues at the site. Still no information about victims. The Port Authority of Santa Catarina (CPSC) will initiate an administrative investigation, with a deadline of 90 days for completion, to determine the possible causes and those responsible. Cyclone The states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina have been suffering, since Thursday (15th) from the passage of an extratropical cyclone. It caused heavy rains and strong winds, mainly in the mountainous and metropolitan regions and on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to the east of Santa Catarina. According to the National Civil Defense, 34 cities in Rio Grande do Sul and 17 in Santa Catarina were affected. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), large volumes of rain will hit Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná this weekend. In São Paulo, the accumulation of rain should be concentrated mainly in the Ribeira Valley, with volumes exceeding 100 millimeters (mm) in 24 hours.
