The São Paulo Civil Defense issued an alert this Wednesday (12) with forecast for Thursday (13) and Friday (14) of strong winds in the state and waves of up to 4 meters on the coast of São Paulo. Strong winds are forecast, up to 90 km/h, especially for the metropolitan region of São Paulo, the Ribeira Valley, the Itapeva region, Baixada Santista, and the north coast. In Sorocaba, Serra da Mantiqueira, Campinas and São José dos Campos, winds could reach 80 km/h, and in the Paraíba Valley, 75 km/h. There is also a forecast of sea undertow for the entire coast of São Paulo, on both days, with waves reaching up to 4 meters. “Given this scenario, it is recommended to avoid the practice of water sports or sports influenced by the wind, such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing”, warns the Civil Defense. According to the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of São Paulo, the formation of strong gusts of wind will occur due to the action, in the south of the country, of an extratropical cyclone. “Although the extratropical cyclone brings rain to the south of the country, in São Paulo no significant accumulations will be recorded”, informs the CGE. On Friday, the capital of São Paulo should have a significant drop in temperatures, due to an entry of cold air mass in the state. The minimum temperature can reach 9°C.
