President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that the relationship between the Executive and Legislative powers is probably the best in recent decades, and that, if maintained, “this will be Brazil’s decade”. The statement was made this Thursday (13th), during the sanctioning ceremony of the bill that creates the new Minha Casa, Minha Vida. “In the relationship with the National Congress, we are possibly experiencing the best moment in recent decades”, said the president, praising the “independent” conduct that has been carried out by the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and the approval, by the Chamber of Deputies, of important projects, in particular the tax reform. “He [Pacheco] you don’t have to ask permission or ‘please’ for me. And, in the Chamber, people were even scared by [a forma como] the tax policy was approved. People are realizing the historic moment that Brazil is living. If we know how to take care of the political moment with care, this will be Brazil’s decade, with its international prestige recovered”, he added. According to the president, the context is even more favorable with people having wage increases again and with the pacification that has already been perceived in the streets and in families. “People are once again being treated with respect on the streets. No one is forced to root for the same team or attend the same church. Each one of us will be what we want, and we have to respect that. This is democracy being exercised in its fullness”, he added by associating such conflicts with the dissemination of fake news (false information) through social networks.
