A group accused of a series of cyber crimes, including incitement to self-mutilation, psychological violence, sexual extortion and threats, was the target of police action this Monday (21), in four states. Operation Pessinus was launched in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the Civil Police of Piauí and the Public Ministry of Santa Catarina (MPSC). Five search and seizure warrants and two provisional detention orders were executed for adolescents in the states of Piauí and Mato Grosso. One of them, aged 13, is appointed as the intellectual mastermind of the crimes. After asking for intimate photos for the victims, he began to blackmail them, inducing the commission of crimes. In addition, he co-opted other young people to commit sexual extortion. The other teenager apprehended is 17 years old. Investigators investigate the practice of crimes of illegal embarrassment, threat, psychological violence against women, rape of a vulnerable person, apology for crime or criminal, incitement to discrimination or prejudice based on race, color, ethnicity, religion or national origin, all practiced in internet messaging applications. The investigations were conducted by the Cybernetic Investigations Laboratory of the National Public Security Secretariat (Ciberlab/Diopi/Senasp), by the Intelligence Directorate of the Civil Police of Piauí and by the Cybercrime Investigation Group (CyberGaeco) of the MPSC. The teenager appointed as the intellectual mastermind of the crimes had profiles of worshiping Nazi symbols and self-mutilation. In addition to idolizing and propagating images of perpetrators of school massacres, according to the investigation, he disseminated links to groups that contained content of torture, pedophilia, violence against animals and people. Faced with threats, the teenager demanded that an ex-girlfriend perform self-mutilation in front of the cameras. Among the profiles initially identified by the prosecutors working in Santa Catarina, one was a teenager who, based on evidence, had the intention of setting fire to a school. During the course of the investigation, however, the police discovered that she was being the victim of sexual extortion, where she was blackmailed into committing crimes under threats that she would have intimate photos released. The search and provisional arrest warrants were served in the cities of Ilha Grande (PI), Biguaçu (SC), Lucas do Rio Verde (MT) and Macaé (RJ). “Today, the amount of crimes committed in the cyber environment is already greater than those committed physically. Parents and society have a fundamental role in this context, and must protect children and adolescents through guidance and monitoring. Abuses will not be tolerated in any medium”, warned the intelligence director of the Civil Police of Piauí, Anchieta Nery. of situations and crimes committed with the support of technology. “Today we carried out a huge operation in several states due to mutilations, apology of neo-Nazism and sexual abuse involving teenagers clustered on a technology platform”, he lamented. He testified that there are images of mutilated teenagers who have been raped. “This is not a peaceful society, it is not a healthy society”, he said.
