Minas ended the Women’s Volleyball Club World Cup held in Antalya (Turkey) in fourth place after the defeat, this Sunday (18), to Eczacibasi (Turkey) by 3 sets to 1 (partials of 25/22, 23/25 , 25/10 and 25/21). “The World Cup is very important for us, because we always learn lessons that help us evolve. Of course, we wanted to win a medal, but I’m sure that our team will return home at a very different level than when it arrived”, declared centre-half Carol Gattaz. Minas coach Nicola Negro said that the final balance is positive: “We played a good World Cup and presented a good level of play, with the exception of the semifinal. Unfortunately we left without a medal, but the feeling is that the team took a step forward. Now the team needs to rest, mentally and physically, because we still have a long season ahead of us.”
